Brawl at gambling machines

CALVIN Basson was shot and wounded in the left upper leg when he allegedly attempted to stab a security guard with a knife at about 21h30 at the Otjomuise Pub on Thursday.

"The victim and three other men were apparently busy tampering with the gambling machines to get money out when the guard asked them to leave the premises," Matengu said."They refused and the next moment the victim apparently pulled out a knife and tried to stab the guard, who was forced to use his weapon in self defence." The victim was treated at Katutura State Hospital.

Shots fired during heated quarrel

AUGUSTINUS Ben Kaenandjama (42) of farm Ramay, near Outjo in the Kunene Region, was shot and injured in the stomach by Piet Ignatius Lemmer (63) of farm Clocke, in the Outjo District, at about 16h00 on Monday.The shooting incident, which followed a bitter quarrel between the two, took place at Agra Auction Pens at Outjo.
Both men were reportedly seriously injured and were admitted to hospital.

Attempted murder at Oshikango

A MAN is wanted for attempted murder after he apparently shot at a woman he was arguing with at Oshikango in the Ohangwena Region on Friday night.The incident took place at the Checkers Shopping Centre at about 18h00. The suspect reportedly first pointed a gun to the head of Secilia Shinduru, Police spokesperson Matengu said. "He then directed the gun to her one leg and fired, missing the complainant by inches before he ran away."
