Four perish in road accidents

AT least four people died in road accidents over the weekend, the Police in Windhoek reported on Tuesday.

Petrus Yambeinge Shatyohamba Kaxumba (17) died on the spot after he was hit by a vehicle while cycling at Ongha Village in the Ohangwena Region at around 17h45 on Friday

Herbertus Immanuel Matsuib, age not given, died instantly on Friday afternoon after a Volkswagen Polo he was travelling in overturned after a right tyre burst.

The accident took place along the Okahandja-Otjiwarongo main road.
David Petrus (34) died in a similar accident on Saturday. The vehicle in which he was travelling overturned along the Tsumkwe-Mangetti main road.

At Mveve village, along the Kahenge-Rundu main road, Helvi Makuti Ntusi, age not given, died on the spot after a towing vehicle she was travelling in overturned on Saturday.

Another 11 passengers sustained superficial wounds and were treated at the Rundu State hospital.

* The Police at Hosea Kutako International Airport are investigating a case of suicide after Naftali Narib (67) hanged himself at Okamboho West Farm on Saturday.
