Man killed in rock fall

STAFF REPORTER

A MAN was crushed to death on Thursday when a large rock fell on him while he was digging for semi-precious stones in the Erongo Region.

Zedekia Gaugorob Dios, age not given, was prospecting for stones with a friend who was working in a separate hole in the Erongo mountains.

Police spokesman Sergeant Christopher Munyika said Dios screamed when the rock fell on him, but the stone was too heavy for his friend to lift.

* Simon David (54) died at Otjihase Mine after he was run over by a large mechanised vehicle at 02h36 on Friday. The Police have opened an inquest docket.
