Justice minister apoligises for Nevirapine court order remarks

CAPE TOWN - South African Justice Minister Penuell Maduna on Wednesday morning apologised for his remarks on Monday night following the Pretoria High Court order that the anti-aids drug Nevirapine be issued to Hiv-Aids positive women and babies at State hospitals countrywide.

Maduna was reported on radio bulletins as saying that he withdrew his remark that this court order was not binding on other provinces besides Gauteng where the order was made by Judge Chris Botha.

Maduna had since been briefed by his officials on details of the court order and therefore withdraw his remarks and apologised. Nampa-Sapa
