Gambian president unveils new government

BANJUL, March 26 (AFP) - Gambian President Yahya Jammeh formed a new government late Tuesday following legislative elections in January, but without revealing any major changes, officials said.

The 15-member cabinet sees only one change, with Momodou Jallow leaving the youth and sports portfolio to be replaced by Samba Faal.

Issatou Njie-Saidy, returned to the post of vice president and womens' affairs, becomes the number two in government.

A new department of communication and information has also been created. - Nampa-AFP
