Senegal's success ' a spur' to Nigeria

LAGOS - Arsenal striker Nwankwo Kanu said Monday that the qualification of fellow West Africans Senegal for the World Cup will spur Nigeria on to also reach the finals this weekend when they face Ghana.

"Senegal's qualification is good for us. They have given us hope to go all the way against Ghana on Sunday," Kanu told reporters."

"We won't disappoint our fans. We're going to the World Cup," added Kanu, who has scored four goals so far in Nigeria's qualifying campaign.

Nigeria have to beat Ghana on Sunday in Port Harcourt to clinch the last remaining African place for next year's World Cup finals in South Korea and Japan.
