Earlier in the competition Namibia beat Ghana 2-0, but they could not repeat that performance in the final. Namibia won its first four matches in the tournament en route to the final, with their biggest win being a 6-0 drubbing of Vemmerbyif of Sweden. On Monday Namibia lost their first match in the Gothia Cup competition 1-0 against a Norwegian team. Junior fistballers lose in EuropeNAMIBIA's junior fistball team lost all its matches at the European Fistball Youth Championships in Switzerland. Namibia lost 20-17, 20-10 against Austria; 20-8, 20-10 against Switzerland; 20-13, 20-7 against Germany; and 20-17, 17-20, 20-10 against Italy. Despite their losses the team received a standing ovation for their performance against Italy. The tournament was won by Germany who beat Switzerland in the final, while Austria won the third-place play-off against Italy. Blue Boys soccer tourneyBLUE Boys Football Club invites all registered second division and nationwide first division teams to enter the Blue Boys soccer tournament scheduled to take place at the Mondesa Sport Field on July 21 and 22. The winning team will receive N$1 500, the runners-up N$800 and the losing semi-finalists N$350 each, while the entrance fee is N$300 per club.
