Soccer deadline draws closer

NAMIB Premier League soccer teams have until next Monday, July 30, to register players, after which no player will be allowed to change clubs until January next year.

Harold von Luttichau, of the Namibian Premier League steering committee, said the steering committee plans to send lists of registered players to each of the 16 affiliated clubs so that all the clubs know where players are registered.

This is to ensure that no delays occur while the league is in progress because of players that have not received a clearance or other related problems.

The league has been enlarged from 14 to 16 teams this season after Touch and Go from the Far North, Bee Bob Brothers from the South, United Stars from the North East and Ramblers and Hotflames from the Central West regions were promoted to the top flight.

The league is set to kick off on 11 August.
