Monday, July 23, 2001 - Web posted at 14:40:26 GMT Hertha win warmup tournament MANNHEIM - Hertha Berlin beat Schalke 4-1 Saturday to win the German League Cup - presented to the winners of a pre-season warm-up tournament held in Mannheim. An own goal by Schalke's Tomasz Waldoch gave Hertha a 24th-minute lead which was increased five minutes later by Marcelinho. Hertha's other Brazilian Alex Alves, then Michael Hartmann, hit second-half goals, with Joerg Boehme getting Schalke's 40th-minute consolation.
