Strydom and Davin win tennis titles

JURGENS Strydom and Suzelle Davin won the boys and girls under 16 singles titles of last weekend's Caltex Junior Tournament in Windhoek.

In the boys final Strydom beat Herman Kuschke 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, while Davin beat Estelle van Dyk 6-0, 7-6 in the girls final.

The boys doubles title was won by Wickus Fourie and Jurgens Strydom, who beat Herman Kuschke and Rian Kritzinger 3-6, 6-1, 6-0, while James Lombard won the plate event.

The girls doubles final was won by Estelle van Dyk and Katrien Moeller who beat Britte Gruttemeyer and Angela Strapazzen 7-5, 6-2.

In the boys under 12 competition Deon van Zyl beat Schalk Burger 7-6, 6-2 in the singles final, while Schalk Burger and Jean Erasmus beat Deon van Zyl and Jacques Nel 6-2, 6-3 in the doubles final.

The plate event was won by Eric Engelbrecht.

The girls under 12 singles title was won by Mariska Kuschke, who beat Carmen Britz 6-0, 6-1 in the final, while Mariska Kuschke and Izaan Viljoen beat Marike Thomas and Nandi Jordan 6-3, 6-2.
