Weekend Sport Events - Development team to play Shimlas

THE Namibian development rugby team which will play the Free State University team Shimlas at the Mariental Rugby Day tomorrow is as follows:Morne du Plessis, Jaco Kotze, Deon Gouws, Corne Powell, Johan Kruger, Francois van Rensburg, Teeleleni Kakehongo, Dirkie Beukes, Rudiger Gentz, Faan Horn, Archie Graham, Domingo Kamonga, Andries Blaauw, Thai Isaacs, Fanna Lambert.

Replacements: Coenie Plaatjie, Maurice Kapitako, Ferguson Losper, Duan Spannenberg, Stan Kotze, Du Preex Grobler, Gerald Loubser.

Meanwhile, Namibia's national under-19 team will play the Australian Aborigines at 19h00 on July 31 at the National Rugby Stadium in Windhoek.

The entrance fee is N$20 for the Grand Stand, N$10 for the Open Stand and N$5 for scholars.

Mountain Dew Cup finals

THE finals of the Central School Sport Association's Mountain Dew Cup competitions take place at the Ramblers field in Pionierspark tomorrow.

The under-11 boys final between DHPS and DSW starts at 08h30, followed by the under-15 boys final between Concordia and Jan Jonker at 09h30.

The girls' Super Cup final between DHPS and Centaurus starts at 10h45, while the boys Super Cup final between A Shipena and Dawid Bezuidenhout starts at 12h00.

The prize-giving ceremony will start at 13h30.

Blue Boys soccer tourney

BLUE Boys Football Club invites all registered second division and nationwide first division teams to enter the Blue Boys soccer tournament scheduled to take place at the Mondesa Sport Field tomorrow and Sunday.

The winning team will receive N$1 500, the runners-up N$800 and the losing semi-finalists N$350 each, while the entrance fee is N$300 per club.

Women's soccer tourney postponed

THE Namibia Women's Football League's regional tournament which was supposed to take place in Windhoek this weekend, has been postponed to next weekend due to the Brave Warriors' match against Senegal tomorrow.

Schools and clubs which would like to enter the tournament can contact Ms Jansen at cell number 0812527591.

A floating trophy and prize money of N$1 000 is at stake.

The registration fee is N$50 per club, while the draw takes place at the Katutura Youth Hostel on Friday, July 20.

Erongo regional meeting

SECOND division soccer teams are invited to attend an Erongo regional consultative meeting tomorrow.

The meeting, which starts at 09h00, will be held at the former Alfa Co-op building, in the conference room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Information and Broadcasting, Garnisson Street, Swakopmund.

Teams which must send a maximum of three representatives each to the meeting are as follows:Celtic, Desert Lovers, Egoli Sport, Jura Molest, Juventus, Hibernians, Mighty Eagles, Super Eagles, Young Cosmos, Walvis Bay Dolphins, Walvis Bay Prisons.

Soccer friendlies in Tsumeb

BLUE Waters, Chief Santos, Oshakati City and K K Palace will be involved in friendly matches at the Oscar Norich Stadium this weekend.

At 15h30 tomorrow Tsumeb Old Crocks will play Grootfontein Old Crocks, to be followed by Blue Waters against Chief Santos at 17h00.

On Sunday Blue Waters play Oshakati City at 12h00, to be followed by KK Palace against Chief Santos at 15h00.

The entrance fee is N$10 for adults, N$5 for students, N$1 for children and N$2 for vehicles.
