Local Sport Shorts - Pirates soccer extravaganza

SOCCER clubs are invited to enter the Orlando Pirates 2001 Soccer Extravaganza which takes place at Otjiwarongo on February 17 and 18.

The tournament will serve as a warm-up for the 2001 season and the total prize money amounts to N$25 000.

The winning team will receive N$15 000, the runners-up will receive N$5 000; the third-placed team will receive N$2 500 and the fourth-placed team will receive N$1 500.

The top goal scorer and the player of the tournament will each will receive N$500.

The entrance fee is N$1 500 per team.

The closing date for registration is on February 14.
