Wednesday, January 31, 2001 - Web posted at 8:46:05 AM GMT Skinstad back for Stormers CAPE TOWN - The Stormers will use Bobby Skinstad as an impact player in their pre-season friendly against South Western Districts at George on Friday. Skinstad who showed that he overcame his knee injury with some excellent displays during the World Cup Sevens in Argentina has been named among the reserves. He has been named along with captain Corne Krige among the players who will be starting out on the substitutes bench. Stormers' coach Alan Solomons has given all the squad's current Test Springboks a break and named Chean Roux as the captain for the George encounter. However, Braam van Straaten and Robbie Fleck are among the reserves. Roux's selection is an interesting one as he was not named in the Stormers squad a few days ago and his task of laying claims to the No 8 berth will be a difficult one as Skinstad and Adri Badenhorst are likely to be the preferred players. The side to play SWD reads:Robert Markram, John Daniels, Werner Greeff, Stuart Abbott, Jan Ackerman, Chris Rossouw, Neil de Kock, Chean Roux (captain), Adri Badenhorst, Pietie Ferreira, Thys Stoltz, John Slade, Raan Rautenbach, Pete Dixon, Carel van der Merwe. Replacements: Robbie Fleck, Braam van Straaten, Joggie Viljoen, Bob Skinstad, Quinton Davids, Morne van der Merwe, Johan van Wyk. - Nampa-Sapa |
