NC in session
ABSALOM SHIGWEDHA

THE National Council resumed business on Wednesday with the Deputy Chairperson of the House announcing that the National Assembly has passed and referred four bills to the NC for review.

Margreth Mensah said the bills are the Agricultural Commercial Land Reform Second Amendment Bill, the Meat Corporation Bill, the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervising Authority Bill and the Motor Vehicles Accidents Fund Bill.

A new Swapo MP in the NC from Kavango region was sworn in by Chief Justice Johann Strydom on Wednesday.

Johannes Hausiku was sent to the NC after Swapo won last year's local election in the Rundu constituency, held after the death of Ambrosius Haingura, who was a ruling party MP in the National Council.
